Growing up, I remember waking up at 4am to get ready for Simbang Gabi with my mom. It was definitely rough having to wake up so early to bring my mom to Mass, but every time we got to church there was something about the twinkling lights and festive Parols that always brought me joy. The smell of incense that mingled with the choir singing songs meant that Christmas was near and no matter how tired I felt, I always felt the Christmas cheer!
